The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Brian Balisi arrived at the facility unannounced to conduct a required annual visit. LPA met with facility staff and explained the reason for the visit. Administrator Karla Ibarra arrived shortly after.

At approx 09:45a.m. LPA toured the physical plant areas inside and outside to ensure there are no health and safety hazards and that facility is in compliance with Title 22 Regulations. The following was observed: LPA observed the kitchen area to be clean. Kitchen appliances were in operable condition. The facility has a sufficient supply of two (2) days perishable and seven (7) days non-perishable food. LPA observed a fire extinguisher to be fully charged and last serviced on 07/11/2025. Emergency food was observed sufficiently stored in the entry way closet.

There is an attached garage. LPA observed a refrigerator and freezer in the garage with additional food; in good condition. Washer and dryer on premises; residents do their own laundry needs; however, facility will assist if needed. Detergents and cleaning solutions were observed in a locked cabinet at the time of the visit. There are four (4) bedrooms for resident use and one (1) bedroom designated for staff. One (1) bedroom is designated as double occupancy; and three (3) bedrooms are designated as single occupancy. The LPA observed all resident bedrooms to be properly furnished with a bed, nightstand, and sufficient lighting. The bedrooms had appropriate and adequate bedding. LPA observed additional clean linens and towels in the hallway closet.

There are two (2) bathrooms at the facility. Both are designated as a common resident bathrooms. All bathrooms were observed to be clean and were equipped with nonskid surfaces. LPA observed both bathrooms to contain locked under sink cabinets. The cabinets contained personal grooming supplies. The water temperature was measured in all bathrooms between 105 degrees Fahrenheit and 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
