Privacy
We do not sell your details to anyone, ever. An inquiry you send goes to the one facility you sent it to and no other. There are no advertising trackers on this site.
What we collect
Nothing at all, if you are only reading. Browsing facility pages, maps, reports and answers requires no account and sets no tracking cookie.
If you contact a facility, we store what you typed into that form: the email address or phone number you gave, your name if you gave one, what you said you were looking for, and roughly when you need it. That is passed to that facility and nobody else. We also store a one-way HMAC of your IP address so the form cannot be used to flood an operator — it is a counter, it is not reversible into an address, and it is never shown to anyone.
If you are an operator claiming a page, we store your name, role, email address and any phone number you give us, so a person can verify you against the number on your state licence.
If you subscribe, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. Card numbers never reach our servers. We keep the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers and the status of your subscription, which is what tells the site whether your listing may publish.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent or broker contact details. This is the whole point of the business model — we charge a flat fee precisely so we are not paid per lead.
- We do not send your inquiry to competing facilities, to a call centre, or to a placement agency.
- We run no advertising pixels, no cross-site trackers and no session recording.
- We do not build a profile of you across visits.
Cookies
One, and only if you sign in: the session cookie that keeps an operator logged in. It is httpOnly, it is not readable by scripts, and it exists only to keep you signed in. If you set a location manually, that preference is stored in a cookie too, so the site remembers where you are looking. Neither is used for advertising.
Where your location comes from
To show care homes near you, the site reads the approximate city your network connection appears to be in — the same coarse signal every website receives with the request. It is not precise, we do not store it, and you can override it at any time with the location control at the top of the page. If you choose to share precise location from your browser, that stays in your browser and is never sent to us.
The facility information itself
Everything published about a facility — citations, complaint findings, visit history, licensee, capacity — is a public record reproduced from the California Department of Social Services. It is not personal information about you, and we do not accept requests to remove it. If a record is factually wrong, it needs correcting at the source; see corrections.
Names of licensees and administrators appear because the state publishes them as part of the licence record.
How long we keep things
Inquiries are kept for two years so an operator can look back at who contacted them. Claim requests are kept for as long as the claim stands, as the record of how a page was verified. Ask us and we will delete anything you sent, unless we are required to keep it for tax or fraud reasons.
Your rights
If you are in California, the CCPA gives you the right to know what we hold about you, to have it deleted, and not to be discriminated against for asking. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of — but you are welcome to ask what we have. Write to privacy@seniorcarerecords.org and we will answer within thirty days.
Who we are
Senior Care Records is published by MITRYXA, which is also the name that appears on an operator’s card statement. Reach us at privacy@seniorcarerecords.org.
This page describes what seniorcarerecords.org actually does. If we change it, the date at the top changes with it.
