Terms of use
We reproduce a public record accurately. We do not rate facilities, we do not sell position, and nothing here is medical, legal or placement advice. Choosing a care home is your decision, and it should involve visiting.
What this site is
Senior Care Records reproduces licensing records published by state agencies — in California, the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division. We reproduce the state’s own figures verbatim and do not recalculate them. Where an operator has claimed their page, clearly marked fields are supplied by that operator rather than by the state.
What it is not
- Not a rating. We publish no score, star or ranking of our own. Lists are alphabetical.
- Not an endorsement. A facility appearing here, with or without citations, is not a recommendation by us either way.
- Not advice. Nothing here is medical, legal, financial or placement advice. A citation record cannot tell you whether a particular home suits a particular person.
- Not current in real time. Records are refreshed periodically and each page states when it was retrieved. The state’s own system is authoritative.
Accuracy, and what to do about an error
We take reproducing the record correctly seriously, and we publish our methodology so it can be checked. We cannot warrant that every figure is free of error, and we do not accept liability for decisions made on the basis of what is published here.
If something is wrong because we reproduced it wrongly, tell us and we will fix it — see corrections. If the underlying state record is wrong, it has to be corrected with the licensing office; the change then flows through on our next refresh. We do not remove accurate public records on request.
Operator subscriptions
- Claiming a page is free and always will be.
- A subscription lets you publish your own fields and receive family inquiries. The tier follows your licensed bed count, which comes from the state record.
- Billing is monthly in advance by MITRYXA through Stripe, and MITRYXA is the name that appears on your statement.
- Cancel any time from your dashboard. Access continues to the end of the period you have paid for; we do not pro-rate part months.
- If a subscription lapses, your own fields stop being published. The state record on your page stays exactly where it was — that never depended on paying.
- A subscription buys none of: position in a list, removal of a citation, suppression of a complaint finding, or influence over what the state record says.
Claiming a page
You may claim a page only if you are authorised to act for that facility. We verify against the phone number on the state licence. Claiming a facility you do not represent will have the claim revoked, and the page returns to its unclaimed state.
Using the data
The underlying records are public. You may download and reuse them from our data page; attribution is appreciated and not required. Do not scrape the site itself when the bulk files exist — they are faster for you and cheaper for us. Do not use anything here to harass a facility, an administrator or a family.
Inquiries you send
An inquiry goes to the one facility you sent it to. We do not broker it, resell it, or copy it to competitors. If the facility has not claimed its page, the inquiry waits until it does — we tell you that at the time rather than letting you think it was delivered.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top changes. Material changes affecting paying operators will be sent to them directly.
