The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Martha Arroyo arrived at the facility unannounced to conduct a required annual visit today at 09:10 a.m. Upon arrival, the LPA was greeted by staff who then contacted the Administrator via telephone and informed them of the visit. The Administrator, Betsy Insular arrived at approximately 09:35 a.m. and at this time, the purpose of the visit was explained. Entrance interview conducted.

Beginning at 09:42 a.m., the LPA along with the Administrator toured the physical plant areas inside and outside to ensure there are no health and safety hazards and that facility is in compliance with Title 22 Regulations. The following was observed:

Kitchen: The LPA observed the kitchen/food area at approximately 09:49 a.m. The kitchen appliances appeared to be clean and in operable condition. The facility has a sufficient supply of non-perishable and perishable food; properly stored. Refrigerator and dry food pantry were checked for proper labels and expiration dates. Knives and sharps were observed under the kitchen sink locked and inaccessible. Cleaning supplies were also observed locked under the kitchen sink.

Bedrooms: There are four (4) bedrooms designated for resident use. The LPA observed all resident bedrooms to be properly furnished with a bed, clean linens, furniture chest with drawers, a chair, and sufficient lighting. Bedroom #3 was observed with direct access to the outside perimeter.
