The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kelly Dulek arrived at the facility unannounced to conduct a required annual visit. At 11:18, the LPA arrived at the facility. LPA called Administrator Maria Miranda, who arrived promptly. LPA explained the reason for the visit. The facility is vendored by Tri-Counties Regional Center as a level 5 home.

Beginning at 11:39 a.m., the LPA, along with the Administrator toured the physical plant areas inside and outside to ensure there are no health and safety hazards. The following was observed:

OUTDOOR SPACE: The LPA observed the back patio which has a covered area equipped with furniture for client use. There are no bodies of water on the premises. There are one (1) self-latching side gate for emergencies. The LPA observed one (1) locked shed.

KITCHEN: The LPA observed the kitchen and dining area. Kitchen appliances are in operable condition. The facility has a sufficient supply of perishable and non-perishable food. Knives are stored in a locked drawer. Cleaning solutions and chemicals are inaccessible and locked away underneath the kitchen sink.

RESTROOMS : Client restroom is relatively clean and sanitary and in operating condition. Hot water temperature measured at 117.5 degrees Fahrenheit. The sink had sufficient liquid soap, and paper towels.

BEDROOMS: The facility contains four (4) total bedrooms - one (1) designated for staff use and three (3) for shared client use. The LPA observed three (3) client bedrooms, which were furnished appropriately with clean linens, appropriate furnishings and sufficient lighting. Inside temperature was maintained at a comfortable level.
