The inspector’s account

On 4/14/2025, LPA Grace Donato conducted an unannounced collateral visit at Embassy Suites located in Burlingame, CA. LPA met with House Manager (HM), Veronica Rozario and explained the purpose of the visit.

This visit is in response to emergency relocation due to ongoing bathroom repair in the facility because of bathroom pipes emitting foul odor.

During the visit at the hotel, LPA observed 4 hotel rooms housing 1 client in each room. Clients rooms were observed with clients' personal belongings, water, snacks, bathroom, towels, bed. Clients are currently having breakfast at the lobby and will go out for day program.

No staff members will be sleeping in the clients' rooms as all staff are wake-staff. HM indicated they will provide breakfast to clients; cereal, fruits and eggs with milk, coffee or juice and for lunch and dinner they will have take-out.

According to HM, the tentative check out date from the hotel is on 4/16/2025 and might be extended depending on the ongoing repairs. HM will notify LPA before clients will be moved back to the facility.
