Facility staff did not treat client with dignity and respect
Licensing Program Analyst (LPA)Tiffany Holmes contacted the facility to deliver findings for a complaint investigation via tele-virtual. LPA identified herself to, and explained the purpose of the visit and the basic elements of the complaint with Alexis Garcia, Program Director.
Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Domingo previously conducted a tour, made observations, and obtained and reviewed pertinent records on 07/17/2024. LPA Holmes conducted interviews with clients, staff, and outside sources. It was alleged that the facility staff did not treat client with dignity and respect. Interviews revealed Client 1 (C1) was getting picked up by transport to go to program. Interviews revealed that C1's parent walked them to the bus and the client and bus driver allegedly exchanged words. Interviews with staff revealed they did not exchange any words with C1 and that it was C1's parent that yelled and cursed at them. Interviews revealed Staff 1 (S1) denied not treating the client with diginity and respect. No other interviews could confirm or deny the allegation of the facility staff did not treat client with dignity and respect. The Department has investigated the above-mentioned allegation and based on interviews, LPA observations, and records review, it was determined that the complaint allegation is unsubstantiated. The allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred.
An exit interview was conducted with Alexis Garcia, Program Director via face time and a copy of this report along with Licensee/Appeal Rights (LIC 9058 03/22) was provided via email. An electronic email read receipt confirms the documents were received.
