The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Seo Jeon conducted an unannounced annual required visit. Upon entry, LPA was greeted by Mark Memmelaar, Administrator, and informed them of the purpose of the visit. The Administrator and LPA conducted tour of interior and exterior areas of the facility.

Facility Overview: The facility is 2 story building with 170 bedrooms for both assisted living and independent residents. This facility has multiple activity units like gym and swimming pool. The swimming pool is indoor unit that is accessible to residents with keys only.

Physical Plant: The physical plant, including floors, windows, and doors, was clean and well maintained. Fixtures and furniture were in good repair. The outdoor area was free of hazards. There is a laundry facility for the residents. Sharp and dangerous objects were securely stored and inaccessible to residents. LPA reviewed facility's water temperature logs and found the temperature to be within the regulation limit. LPA reviewed fire and safety inspection report from Escondido Fire Department dated 12-24-2024 and observed the facility passed the annual fire safety inspection.

Food Service: The facility’s kitchen was clean and equipped to prepare food. The facility maintained the required two-day supply of perishable foods and a seven-day supply of non-perishable foods.
