The inspector’s account

Interviews with staff reported having a pest control company come out several times a month to treat the facility. Records reviewed corroborated this and revealed that facility staff contracts a pest control company that regularly provides pest control services.

Interviews with clients in care reported they have observed services from pest control come to the facility. Clients interviewed also reported that facility staff clean the facility well and regularly.

Interviews did not reveal any concerns with the facility’s response to rodents in the facility. LPA toured the facility during unannounced visits and did not observe any evidence of active rodent activity.

The Department has investigated the allegation that staff did not keep the facility free of vermin. Based upon the information obtained during this investigation, it is determined that the preponderance of evidence was not met to support or corroborate these allegations and therefore deemed unsubstantiated.

An exit interview was conducted with Fe Martinez, Assistant Administrator, to whom a copy of this report and the Licensee’s Rights (LIC9058 01/16) were provided.
