The inspector’s account

Facility is not safeguarding client’s property – Unsubstantiated

RP alleges that the housekeepers and other residents are breaking and entering R1’s room and are leaving the chest of drawers open. During an interview with R1, R1 states that the lock on their bedroom door works and unable to specify if any personal belongings are missing. Interviews with staff and residents state that, although sometimes items go missing, it is often those items are found later or that residents verified they sold those items.

Licensee did not provide safe or healthful accommodations – Unsubstantiated

RP alleges that animals are congregating in the designated smoking area at night. However, none of these animals are getting into the facility itself and the facility is free of vermin during LPA’s visit. Interview with S1 and S2 indicates that pest control services are at the facility once a week to conduct preventative measures.

Licensee did not ensure facility was clean – Unsubstantiated

RP alleges there is waste all over the bathrooms and toilets. During LPA Andrew Christy's visit on 07/15/2026, LPA did not observe waste all over the bathrooms and toilets, and the bathrooms were untidy from recent use. In addition, LPA Andrew Christy observed staff taking out the trash to the outside dumpster.

Licensee did not allow client to use washing machine for their personal laundry – Unsubstantiated

RP alleges that there is specific times that residents are allowed to do laundry and that R1 has been denied use of laundry services. During an interview with R1, R1 stated that, if the laundry room is locked, then staff will open it for use. In addition, if the laundry machines are all being used or are broken, R1 states staff provide coins for residents to be able to use the laundromat. Interviews with S1 and S2 verify the staff are primarily doing the laundry since residents often cannot use the machines properly. In interviews with R2 and R3, both residents state that they have never been denied the ability to use the laundry machines.

LPA has fully conducted an investigation for the above allegations. Although the allegations may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did occur, therefore the allegations are UNSUBSTANTIATED.
