The inspector’s account

LPA arrived at the facility to conduct an on-site inspection related to the licensee’s request for an increase in capacity from 48 to 50 residents. LPA met with Program Manage/Administrator Karl Diaz and discussed the purpose of the visit. The facility submitted all required documentation including updated forms, facility sketch, and an updated Plan of Operation in accordance with Title 22. LPA confirmed the facility has obtained an approved Fire Safety Clearance completed which reflects the requested increase in capacity.

LPA conducted a physical plant inspection to verify compliance with Title 22 requirements. LPA observed the additional 2 resident bedrooms and confirmed bedroom square footage meets occupancy requirements, with adequate space, furnishings, and storage for the increased number of residents. Bathrooms were inspected and met the required ratio and were observed to be clean, operational, and stocked. Common areas, kitchen, dining area, and outdoor spaces were sufficient to support the increased capacity. LPA reviewed staffing patterns and verified that the facility has sufficient staff coverage to meet the needs of the proposed capacity. Administrator confirmed staffing schedules will be adjusted as needed to ensure coverage for resident supervision, medication management, meals, and activities. LPA also reviewed the updated Plan of Operation and Emergency Disaster Plan, which adequately address procedures for the increased capacity.

Based on observations, interviews, and review of documentation, the facility meets Title 22 requirements to support an increase in capacity from 48 to 50 residents. There are no deficiencies cited during today’s visit. An exit interview was conducted with the Administrator and a copy of the report was provided to the Administrator.
