The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Marisela Garcia-Centeno conducted an unannounced Required 1 - Year Visit. The facility file was reviewed prior to the visit. LPA met with Administrator, Rebecca Rowe, and we discussed the purpose of the visit. All staff present have a current criminal record clearance.

According to the facility’s license, the facility has a maximum capacity of 14 non-ambulatory clients. During today’s inspection, there were a total of 4 clients enrolled in the day program. During the visit, all the clients (4) were present. The facility does not feature a secured perimeter or delayed egress doors.

LPA, accompanied by Administrator, toured the interior and exterior of the facility and inspected all common areas. The facility was clean and in good repair. Pathways were free of obstruction and slip hazards. The doors, restrooms, and toilets were in working order. Supplies for clients were stored in large containers and were disinfected after each use. The facility had sufficient space and equipment to facilitate client activities and visitors. The facility’s internal temperature and refrigerator and freezer temperatures were within the regulatory range.

During today’s visit, LPA observed, via measurement with a thermometer, that the hot water temperature of the bathroom faucet accessible to clients was within regulatory range.

There were non-perishable food present/snacks for clients all safely stored. There were no sharp objects, toxic chemicals/poisons, or open-faced heaters accessible to clients.
