The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marisela Garcia-Centeno conducted an unannounced Required Annual Inspection. The facility file was reviewed prior to the visit. Administrator Maria Angie Rose welcomed the LPA, identified herself, and explained the purpose of the visit.

The facility is licensed for a maximum capacity of four (4) clients, all of whom may be non-ambulatory. During today’s inspection, four (4) clients were in care.

The LPA, accompanied by Administrator Rose, toured the interior and exterior of the facility and inspected all areas. The facility was clean, sanitary, and in good repair.

Pathways were free of obstructions and slip hazards. Client bedrooms contained the required furnishings. Doors, windows, screens, toilets, and showers were in working order. Adequate linens, hygiene supplies, and Personal Protective Equipment were available. The facility had sufficient space and equipment to accommodate dining, laundry, visitation, meetings, and client activities. The indoor temperature was maintained at a comfortable 72°F.

The facility maintained at least two (2) days of perishable food and seven (7) days of non-perishable food, all properly stored. Cooking and dining equipment and utensils were available. Sharp objects, toxic substances, and open-faced heaters were not accessible to clients. Medications were properly labeled and secured in locked areas.
