The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Magda Malcore conducted an unannounced required annual inspection of the facility. LPA met with Dorris Moore, Program Manager and discussed the purpose of the visit.

The facility is Adult Residential Facility (ARF) with a current census of (17) clients. LPA conducted an overall inspection of the facility, which included, but was not limited to, the following:

Operation/Physical Plant: The facility’s indoor and outdoor passageways were kept free of obstruction. The facility’s has sufficient activity supplies, outdoor and indoor activity space for clients in care. The facility is equipped with laundry equipment, smoke/carbon monoxide alarms, fully charged fire extinguishers, emergency lighting and supplies, covered fire place, window screens, and telephone service. Building #1 and building #2 are maintained at temperatures of 73 and 74 degrees Fahrenheit (F). The facility has posted, facility sketch, client personal rights, activities, and facility license. Client bedrooms were equipped with beds, bed linen, chairs, storage space and lighting. Client bathroom equipment were operating in safe conditions. The hot water in client bathrooms tested at 105 and 112 degrees F.

Food Service: The kitchen and dining areas are maintained clean. The facility has a sufficient supply of snacks, 7 day supply of non-perishable and 2 day supply of perishable food for number of clients in care. Sharps, disinfectants and cleaning solutions are kept in a locked space.

Health Related Services: Client medications are centrally stored in a locked medication room. The facility has a first aid kit and manual.
