The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Magda Malcore and Eldin Serrano conducted an unannounced required 1-year visit to the facility. LPAs met with Dorris Gaskin, Program Manager and discussed the purpose of the visit.

The facility is Adult Residential Facility (ARF) with a current census of (22) clients. LPAs conducted an overall inspection of the facility, which included, but was not limited to, the following:

Operation/Physical Plant: The facility’s indoor and outdoor passageways were kept free of obstruction. The facility’s has sufficient indoor and outdoor activity space for clients in care. The facility is equipped with laundry equipment, smoke/carbon monoxide alarms, fully charged fire extinguishers, and telephone service. The facility is maintained at a comfortable of 74 degrees Fahrenheit. Client bedrooms were equipped with beds, chairs, storage space and lighting. Client bathroom equipment was in operating condition. The hot water in client bathrooms tested at 107 degrees F. The facility has posted, facility sketch, client personal rights, activities, menu, and facility license,

Food Service: The kitchen and dining areas are maintained clean. The facility has sufficient non-perishable and perishable food for number of clients in care. Sharps, disinfectants and cleaning solutions are kept locked and store away from food areas.

Health Related Services: client medications were labeled and centrally stored in a locked medication room. The facility has a first aid kit and manual.

Personnel/Client Records: Four (4) staff records were audited for health screenings, criminal record clearances, first aid/CPR training certifications, and training. Four (4) client records were audited for admissions agreements, medical assessments, service plans, and personnel & incidents (P&I).
