The inspector’s account

On 04/10/2024 at 12:10 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melody Brown conducted an unannounced visit to the facility to conduct the required comprehensive annual inspection. LPA Brown knocked on the door, pressed the doorbell and LPA walked around the home and did not observe any persons inside the home. At 12:15 PM, LPA Brown contacted Licensee/Administrator Hazel Gregorio, and Licensee/Administrator Gregorio stated that a staff will be notified to go to the facility. Licensee Gregorio called back at 12:23 PM and reported that a staff will be at the facility in 20 minutes. At 12:53 PM, Staff #2 (S2) arrived at the facility and LPA Brown gained access to the home. LPA Brown explained the purpose of today's visit to S2. Staff Anita Gregorio was contacted and arrived during the visit.

The facility has four (4) bedrooms, two (2) bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, attached garage, and backyard. The facility is vendorized by Inland Regional Center. LPA Brown completed a walkthrough of the facility, review of records, P and I audit and medications audit.

Physical Plant: The facility is operating in the capacity approved by Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD), LPA Brown observed two (2) clients during the visit. There are no obstructions to indoor and outdoor passageways. The facility is maintained at a comfortable temperature of 71 degrees Fahrenheit. LPA Brown inspected client bedrooms; they are equipped with required furniture such as: mattresses, night stands, storage space, chairs, and sufficient lighting. LPA Brown inspected client bathrooms; bathrooms were clean, and appliances were found functional. However, water temperatures tested at 123.3 degrees Fahrenheit. Deficiency will be issued. The facility is equipped with operational smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, charged fire extinguisher, and first aid kit with first aid book.
