COMPLAINT CONTROL NUMBER: 56-AS-20221207132122

Resident was given alcohol against conservator consent not to

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Anna Bueno conducted an unannounced visit to the facility to initiate the complaint investigation and deliver findings on the above allegation. LPA met staff Sabrina Weddles who was informed of today’s visit. The investigation consisted of review of relevant documents, interviews with relevant parties, and observations of facility.

It is alleged that the resident has been consuming alcohol against their conservator's wishes. LPA observed that there are no alcohol in the facility kitchen and pantry during today's visit. Interviews with relevant parties reveal that conservator is aware when client drinks alcoholic beverages and clients, who are all over the age of 21, willingly consumed alcohol. Interviews further reveal that staff ensure that clients have not taken medication that should not be mixed with alcohol and clients are with staff when consuming alcohol.

A finding that the complaint in UNSUBSTANTIATED means that although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur. An exit interview was conducted where a copy of this report was discussed and provided to with facility representative.
