The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Magda Malcore, Eldin Serrano, and Matthew Aguilar conducted an unannounced annual inspection of the facility. LPAs were granted entry and met with Back-up Lead, Zachary Sanchez, and discussed the purpose of the visit.

The facility is an Enhanced Behavioral Support Home. The facility is a certified Inland Regional Center (IRC) vendor with a capacity of (4) and current census of (3) clients in care. LPAs conducted an inspection of the facility, which included, but was not limited to, the following:

Operation/Physical Plant: The facility is operating within their license limitations approved by Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD). The facility’s indoor and outdoor passageways were kept free of obstruction. The facility has no swimming pools or similar bodies of water. The facility has a covered outdoor activity space and is enclosed by two latching gates. The facility is maintained at a temperature of 71 degrees Fahrenheit. The facility is equipped with operating carbon monoxide/smoke alarms, fully charged fire extinguishers, emergency food/water, night lights, and telephone service. Client bedrooms were equipped with mattresses, bed linen, chairs, storage space and lighting. Client bathroom equipment were operating in a safe and sanitary conditions. The hot water in client bathrooms tested at 110 degrees Fahrenheit. The facility has posted: Client personal rights, emergency telephone numbers, facility license, evacuation sketch, and Community Care Licensing Complaint poster.

Food Service: The kitchen and dining areas are maintained clean. The facility maintains a (7) day supply of non-perishable and a (2) day supply of perishable foods. Sharps and chemicals were maintained locked and inaccessible to clients in care.
