The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Magda Malcore made an unannounced visit to the facility to conduct a required annual inspection. LPA met with Licensee/Administrator Angela Calhoun and discussed the purpose of the visit. The facility is an Adult Residential facility with a license capacity of (4) and a current census (0). The facility has no clients in care and no staff working at the facility. The facility is pending vendor certification with Inland Regional Center (IRC). LPA conducted an overall inspection, which included, but was not limited to, the following:

Operation/Physical Plant: Indoor and outdoor passageways were kept free of obstruction. Outdoor activity area is shaded and enclosed with a gate. The swimming pool is enclosed with a gate and lock. Indoor activity areas are sufficient for clients and the facility is maintained at a temperature of 75 degrees Fahrenheit. The facility is equipped with operating carbon monoxide alarms, laundry equipment, hallway night lights, covered fire place, first aid kit with manual, fully charged fire extinguisher, and telephone service. Client (4) bedrooms were equipped with beds, bed linen, nightstands, chairs, storage space and lighting. Client (2 1/2) bathrooms were maintained clean and fully operational. The hot water in client bathrooms tested at 118 degrees F. The facility has a locked closet were cleaning supplies, disinfectants and sharps are stored. The facility has a locked closet were client medications will be stored. The facility has posted Community Care Licensing Complaint poster, emergency telephone numbers, client personal rights, facility sketch and license. The facility maintains an emergency/disaster plan, infection control plan, and an active surety bond for review. The facility’s dining areas, kitchen, and dishware were maintained clean. The facility has sufficient non-perishable and perishable food for number of clients. Overall the facility is maintained clean and in operating condition.

No deficiencies were cited during today’s visit. An exit interview was conducted, where this report was discussed and a copy was provided to Licensee Calhoun.
