Facility Evaluation Report
Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Christina Valerio arrived to the facility unannounced to conduct an annual visit. LPA Valerio met with facility staff, and explained the purpose of the visit. Staff and administrator informed LPA that the annual was conducted on 11/29/22. LPA continued with visit to ensure health and safety, compliance of Title 22, and check for emergency disaster preparedness.
LPA toured the facility to ensure compliance of Title 22 regulations. All rooms were equipped with required furniture and furnishings. No emergency exits were blocked. LPA observed each bedroom to have enough bedding, towels, and needed items for hygiene. Fire extinguishers were up to date and a pull alarm system was observed. Expiration date for the fire extinguishers are 01/22/2023. LPA observed the facility to have a month supply of foods in the refrigerator, 3 freezers, and pantry. Medication cabinet, sharps, and cleaning supplies were observed to be locked. The temperature in the home was observed to be 74* degrees and the hot water was measured at 114* degrees,
Due to the current weather conditions, the facility is prepared with generators, a month supply of food for residents and staff, and a month supply of medications. LPA observed lanterns, a large generator, emergency food supply, flash lights, and portable heaters. Facility staff have been trained and acknowledge an understanding of procedures and how to use generators. Facility staff have a plan in place in case they are told to evacuate. Emergency bins were observed to be made and easily accessible for staff to grab. A bin has also been prepared with clothing, blankets, and towels. An emergency supply of water was observed.
Per California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 6, Chapter 8, no deficiencies were observed during this visit. An exit interview was held with co- administrator Thelma Casugay and a copy of the report was left at the facility.
