The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Hiratsuka arrived unannounced at the facility to conduct a required annual inspection utilizing the inspection tool. LPA met with Program Director Corey Wells and Assistant Program Director (APD) Kengheng Yang.

During today's visit, LPA observed three direct care staff present. LPA was informed there are 9 clients in care.

LPA and APD conducted a tour together to inspected the interior and the exterior of the facility. Areas toured included but not limited to: eight bedrooms, bathrooms, medication room, staff room, kitchen, laundry room, doctor room and the common areas. LPA observed bathrooms to be clean and in good repair. LPA observed medications, toxins and sharps to be locked and secured. LPA observed hygiene closet with razors to be locked. LPA observed soaps and detergents to be stored separately from food supplies. LPA observed confidential client records to be stored in a locked room. LPA observed activities to be available for clients in care. LPA observed exterior pathways to be free from obstructions. LPA observed facility to have at least two days of perishable and seven days of nonperishable foods. LPA observed telephones and desktops available for client access.

Inspection tool was completed and found facility to be in compliance.

Exit interview and a copy of report was provided.
