The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Christina Valerio arrived unannounced to conduct an annual required inspection. LPA met with Administrator Anne Carillo, and explained the purpose of the visit.

LPA Valerio and Administrator Anne toured the facility to ensure compliance with Title 22 regulations. LPA observed 1 resident and 2 staff on shift. The other 5 residents were out at their Day Program and arrived back throughout the visit. LPA inspected the kitchen area, common areas, resident bedrooms, resident bathrooms, and exterior area. LPA observed the kitchen to be organized, clean, and free from debris. The facility non-perishables were organized in the cabinet area and dated with an expiration date. Non-perishables were observed to be fully stocked and accessible to residents in care. The facility met the minimum requirement of 2 days of perishables and 7 days of non-perishable food items. The facility also had an emergency supply of food. Resident bedrooms were clean, free from odors, and had necessary furniture and furnishings. Resident bathrooms were clean and stocked with hand sanitizer, soap, and paper towels. The hot water was measured at 118.0 degrees F, which is within the required range of 105.0 - 120.0 degrees. Common areas were observed to be free from obstructions with no emergency exits blocked.

LPA reviewed four (4) resident files and two (2) staff files. Resident files were observed to be completed with required documentation. Staff files were observed to be current with up to date training. The last emergency drill was completed on 01/01/2023.

LPA requested the following annual documentation be sent to the Regional Office: LIC 500, LIC 308, LIC 610 - Emergency Disaster Plan, and Surety Bond

Per California Code of Regulations (CCR) - Title 22, Division 6, no deficiencies are being cited today. An exit interview was held with Administrator Anne, and a copy was provided.
