The inspector’s account

On 8/25/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Janette Romero conducted an unannounced visit to the facility for a required annual inspection. LPA was greeted and granted entry by Facility Technician (FT), Gavin Meyer. Administrator, Kenyota Dokes arrived to the facility to meet with LPA. The facility has a fire clearance to serve six (6) ambulatory clients. However, administrator reported the facility has not housed any clients since May 2025.

LPA toured the facility with Administrator Dokes and did not observe any evidence to suggest the home is currently occupied. Client bedrooms have the required bedding, furniture, and lighting. The facility has various rooms designated for client leisure and three (3) bathrooms available for future client use along with an in-ground pool that is secured with a locked fence. FT Meyer tested a smoke alarm/carbon monoxide detector and LPA heard it to be operational. LPA also observed charged fire extinguishers mounted throughout the facility that were last serviced on 1/2/2025. The facility has storage space for perishable and nonperishable foods, medications, and all the required essentials for future client placement. The facility has operating utilities and administrator reported she is not aware of any plans to close the facility at this time. Administrator was advised to notify Community Care Licensing if the facility accepts new client placement or if the licensee wishes to permanently close the facility. During today's visit, LPA did not observe any issues or concerns. An exit interview was conducted and a copy of this report was reviewed and provided to Administrator Dokes.
