The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Janira Arreola conducted an unannounced visit to conduct the required annual inspection. LPA met with Licensee and Administrator, Taye Dodo-Williams who was informed of the purpose of the visit. At the time of the visit there were no clients in care.

The facility is licensed as an adult resident facility. The licensee was approved by the local fire jurisdiction for (4) ambulatory clients, (4) of which may be non ambulatory, and (1) of which may be bedridden. The home is a one story with (4) bedrooms and (2) bathrooms and attached garage. No pools or firearms are being kept at the facility. LPA observed the physical plant, floors, doors, and windows were clean and in good repair. Fixtures and furniture were present and in good repair. There are hygiene supplies, PPE supplies, and cleaning supplies to do regular cleaning of the facility. The smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms were operational during the time of the visit. The outdoor area was observed to be free of hazards. The cleaning supplies and sharp items were kept locked. Hot water temperature was read at 120F. The facility kitchen is able to prepare food in a clean and safe environment. The facility has stores of emergency food and meets the required food supply. LPA observed the facility exits are free of obstructions and the facility has a store of emergency supplies such as a first aid kit with all required items. There are currently no clients and no medications present. There is a designated locked area for future client medications. The facility employee roster was reviewed with the licensee and the licensee was advised to have future staff fingerprinted and associated to the facility prior to working or residing at the home. The current administrator possess a current administrator's certificate and completed employee file. No deficiencies were cited at the time of the visit. An exit interview was conducted where this report was reviewed and provided.
