The inspector’s account

On 04/17/2026, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Janette Romero made an unannounced visit to the facility to conduct a required annual inspection. LPA was greeted and granted entry by Caregivers Marivic Abat and Judith Dayawon who were informed of the purpose of the visit. Administrator Natalie Marcaida was notified of the annual inspection and arrived to the facility to meet with LPA. Staff present have a criminal record clearance and are associated with the facility. The facility has a fire clearance to serve six (6) ambulatory adults.

LPA toured the facility with Caregiver Dayawon and observed the facility is made up of a two-story home with four (4) client bedrooms, two (2) bathrooms, a kitchen, dining area, living room, laundry room, staff office, and attached garage. No bodies of water were observed on the premises. Indoor and outdoor pathways were free of obstruction. Client bedrooms had the required bedding, furniture, and lighting. Bathrooms had grab bars in the showers. The facility had a two-day supply of perishable foods and seven-day supply of non-perishable food items. Medications are stored in a kitchen cabinet secured with a magnetic lock. The facility has a hallway closet filled with additional linens, towels, and hygiene supplies available for the clients in care. Caregiver Abat tested one (1) of the smoke alarms/carbon monoxide detectors and LPA heard it to be operational. LPA also observed a charged fire extinguisher mounted near the kitchen that was last serviced on 11/26/2025. Administrator reported there have been no changes to the licensee entity since becoming licensed. Marcaida's administrator's certificate expires on 09/29/2027. LPA reviewed the Record Of Client's/Resident's Safeguarded Cash Resources f or all three (3) clients while administrator counted their physical monies and no discrepancies were discovered. Clients' personal rights, complaint procedures, emergency disaster plan and facilit y sketch are visibly posted near the kitchen. During today's visit, LPA did not observe any issues or concerns. An exit interview was conducted and a copy of this report was reviewed and provided to Administrator Marcaida.
