The inspector’s account

On 12/2/2024 at 12:00pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) K. Nguyen conducted an unannounced annual 1-year required inspection visit. LPA met with Melinda Balingit, Direct Care Support, and explained the purpose of the visit. Administrator, Millicent Dizon, arrived at 1:00pm. Administrator holds a certificate #6017482735 waiting for new certificate to arrive. The facility’s fire clearance was approved for six (6) ambulatory clients.

LPA toured the facility including but not limited to bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, common area, garage, and back yard. The facility consists of eight bedrooms and two bathrooms. Two (2) bedroom are occupied by staff. All indoor/ outdoor passageways are kept free of obstruction. There are no bodies of water. A comfortable temperature for clients is maintained at 77 degrees Fahrenheit. LPA observed lighting in all rooms are adequate for the comfort and safety of the clients. Hot water temperature in the shared clients’ bathroom was measured at 118.2 degrees Fahrenheit. All toilets, hand washing, and bathing are safe, sanitary and in operating condition. The supply of extra hygiene was available for clients. There is a minimum of 7-day non-perishables and 2-day perishables foods.

Smoke detectors/carbon monoxide were in operating condition during visit. Fire extinguisher was last services on 09/19/2024. Fire drill last conducted 11/2/2024, earthquake drill11/2/24, and shelter in place last conducted in 10/11/24. First aid kit was observed to be complete.

Five (3) staff records were reviewed, and all staff have first aid, CPR and First Aid certification. LPA reviewed four (5) client files all were current and complete.

No deficiencies cited during visit. Exit interview conducted and a copy of this report provided.
