Facility Evaluation Report
Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Hiratsuka, conducted this unannounced case management visit in response to a Facility Action Report (FAR) issued by Alta California Regional Center on 04/16/2026.
The issue was a PRN "as needed" medication was given to someone who is not capable of determining their symptoms for the medication and not able to communicate their need for the medication. This was prescribed by the doctor. When a doctor notes a resident is unable to communicate their symptoms and not able to communicate the regulation states the doctor has to be contacted prior giving the medication for guidance. The staff were giving a resident their PRN medication without contacting the doctor prior to giving the medication.
The staff have since had training on the PRN medications protocols.
Based on the above the following deficiencies have been cited. LPA is clearing the citation during this visit.
Deficiencies cited from the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 6 of California Regulation. Failure to correct the deficiency and/or repeat deficiencies within a 12 month period may result in civil penalties. Appeal rights were provided.
