Facility Evaluation Report
Licensing Program Analyst Hiratsuka, conducted this unannounced case management visit in response to an incident that was reported by this facility as required by Title 22 Regulations. LPA met with Executive Director (ED) Tracy Freudendahl.
ED reported a med tech refused to give two residents their medications. The medications are prescribed on an as needed basis. The med tech stated the medications were not in stock when in fact they were. ED stated an internal investigation was conducted as soon as she was notified and followed facility corporate protocol for disciplinary action. ED stated staff training for medications is being done tomorrow. The training is going include resident rights with medications. The residents did not suffer any ill-effects. LPA interviewed one of the two residents and the resident stated they did not suffer any ill-effects.
Based on the above the following deficiency has been cited.
Deficiencies cited from the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 6 of California Regulation. Failure to correct the deficiency and/or repeat deficiencies within a 12 month period may result in civil penalties. Appeal rights were provided.
