The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jill Nakagawa arrived unannounced to conduct an Annual Inspection and was welcomed by Program Manager Kim Starks. The facility is licensed by the United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Sacramento, and works with Alta Regional Center and is partnered with UCP Transportation Services. There were 16 Direct Support Staff, 1 Nurse, the Program Manager and 44 clients at the facility at the time of LPA's arrival. The facility has an Infection Control Plan and was updated on 01/16/2025.

LPA Nakagawa toured the facility and found it to be clean and a comfortable temperature of approximately 71 degrees F. The water temperature measured between 107 - 112 degrees F in bathroom and utility sink faucets. The facility was well-organized and provided each client storage for their lunch (provided by client) and personal belongings. There were also areas provided to clients for quiet time. Trained staff help clients with special dietary needs and a licensed nurse is on staff to help clients with medication management and feedings.

The facility has 5 Fire Extinguishers that were fully charged and last inspected on 12/03/2024. The Fire Alarm System was inspected on 02/26/2025 and the Sprinkler System will be inspected on 06/12/2025 and Licensee will provide inspection results to the Department. The program held a fire drill on 03/31/2025 and a disaster drill on 04/28/2025.

There was great staff support to each resident with clients engaged in a variety of activities and social interaction at the time of inspection.

There were no deficiencies found at the time of inspection. No citations issued.
