The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nakagawa arrived unannounced to conduct a visit with Administrator regarding the facility's new records program. LPA met with Jonas Babel-Buckner; Administrator was offsite at the time of visit.

Staff walked LPA through the new records system the facility will be using to chart treatment plans for clients, as well as medication management which will include online orders from doctors, which will carry electronic signatures. Facility will be able to verify medication orders through the INSYNC system, which will show doctor's notes, treatment plans, medication changes. In the event of a system failure the facility will have written orders. These written orders will be used for medication administration and will include a buddy system to ensure accuracy. In addition, orders will be able to be verified by the pharmacy handling the majority of medication prescriptions.

LPA inspected the forms being used by the facility to verify adequate information is available and meets the standards of CCL.
