The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jill Nakagawa arrived unannounced at E & J Griffin Family Care Home on December 18, 2025 to conduct an annual inspection. There were four clients at the facility at the time of inspection. There were 3 staff members on site.

LPA was met at the door by June Penny, House Manager. Facility was found to be clean, orderly, and at a comfortable temperature of 72 F with all exits free from obstruction. Toxins are stored in locked cabinets. Facility's med room is a small closet, located in the main hallway, locked and inaccessible to clients. There was a sufficient supply of hygiene products, cleaners, and paper products for use as needed. The facility does monthly fire/safety drills, the last one was November 1, 2025. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and functioning. 2 Fire extinguishers were fully charged and inspected on 03/11/2025. Water temperature measured within 105-120 degrees F, which is within regulation. Access to the kitchen is limited to staff due to clients with Prader-Willi, but snacks and meals are served on a predictable schedule. There was an ample supply of perishable and nonperishable food as required per Title 22. LPA observed areas of concern addressed in the Alta Regional Center onsite conducted 11/18/2025. Areas addressed were observed to be in compliance with Title 22 Regulations.

A discussion was had regarding P & I accounts.

No deficiencies during today's inspection.
