Facility Evaluation Report
Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jill Nakagawa arrived unannounced at E & J Griffin Family Care Home on December 4, 2024 to conduct an annual inspection. All 4 residents were at program at the time of inspection. There were 3 staff members on site.
LPA was met at the door by June Penny, House Manager. Facility was found to be clean, orderly, and at a comfortable temperature of 70 F with all exits free from obstruction. Toxins are stored in locked cabinets. Facility has a med room; a small closet which is locked, making them inaccessible to residents and staff that do not handle medications. There was a sufficient supply of hygiene products, cleaners, and paper products for use as needed. The facility does monthly fire/safety drills, the last one was November 26, 2024. Smoke detectors are functioning. 2 Fire extinguishers were fully charged and inspected on 03/112/2024. There were 2 carbon monoxide detectors in place. Water temperature measured within 105-120 degrees F, which is within regulation.
There are four (4) residents at the facility; three of the four are diagnosed with Prader-Willi Syndrome so access to the kitchen is limited to staff, but snacks and meals are served on a predictable schedule for the residents. The facility provides outings on a regular basis: movies, festivals, fairs, restaurants, hikes, and library. Residents take turns helping with meal preparation and help with menus and ideas on outings.
No deficiencies during today's inspection.
Exit interview conducted with the House Manager.
