The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jill Nakagawa arrived unannounced on 7/14/2026 at approximately 2:45 PM to perform a 1 Year Required Inspection. The facility operates Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM. There were 13 clients attending at the time of inspection. There were 5 staff on site. Administrator Linda Bibaeff Maldonado was off-site at the time of visit. LPA met with Louise Joyce, Chief Development Officer.

The Program provides lunch through a partnership with Meals on Wheels, as well as snacks and beverages. The main dining/day room has an abundance of tables to accommodate an array of activities: enjoying meals, doing a puzzle, playing a game, doing an art project, watching a slide show or reading the paper. The room also has a grand piano and a variety of other instruments. There is also a Quiet Room, an Art Studio, a Music Room, a Reading Room, and a comfy Living Room to share a movie or enjoy a conversation. The kitchen has locked cupboards and drawers for hazardous and/or sharp materials. The laundry room also stores cleaning supplies, which are behind a locked door. All dangerous items are stored and locked and inaccessible to clients. There was a supply of hygiene products and paper products available, as well as a supply of PPE. All exterior doors are alarmed with all exits free from obstruction. The facility was clean, well-organized and a comfortable temperature of 72 F. The back yard was designed for all levels of mobility, with shaded pathways and safe water features. The facility has a central fire alarm/sprinkler system. There are 4 fire extinguishers which are fully charged and dated 12/05/2025.

LPA will continue the Annual Inspection at a later date. LPA requests an updated Facility Sketch to include the new Pavilion and its entrances and exits.

Exit interview conducted with Louise Joyce, whose signature on this document confirms receipt.
