The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Renee Campbell arrived unannounced to conduct a post licensing visit. LPA Campbell met with Administrator Moreno and explained the purpose of the visit.

LPA Campbell & Administrator Moreno inspected the gym area, class rooms, and all other areas intended for client use. LPA Campbell observed the (2) classrooms to be furnished and maintained in compliance at this time. During the visit, LPA Campbell observed clients in wheelchairs interacting with staff. Other clients sat in recliner chairs or used chairs at the activity tables.

The Community stored medication in an office in a locked file drawer along with the first aid kit. LPA Campbell observed tweezers, scissors and a thermometer with the kit. LPA Campbell and staff discussed the possible need for extra tweezers as they are most likely to disappear and confirmed that the community had a plan if the AC or electricity failed due to excessive heat. Cleaning products were observed to be locked away in the custodial closet.
