The inspector’s account

On 05/16/2025, the Sacramento South Adult and Senior Care Regional Office held an office meeting virtually via Microsoft Teams to conduct a Town Hall Meeting. Present at the meeting were Program Administrator (PA), Ia Lo, Assistant Program Administrator (APA), Pam Gill, Acting Regional Manager (ARM), Stephen Richardson, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Arielle Pascua, Stanislaus Long Term Care Ombudsman (SLTCO), Beverly Ballam, Golden Age Living Newman Facility Designated Administrator (GALNFDA), Linda Garrett, Facility Representatives, Teri Ramos, Russ Ramos, Ryan Brazil, and 6 family members representing the residents.

There are currently a total of 5 residents at Golden Age Living Newman and 6 residents at Golden Age Living Turlock 1.

The purpose of the Town Hall was to address any questions and concerns from the facility and its

representatives. The Department acknowledged the challenges posed by the recent changes and expressed

its commitment to ensuring a smooth transition. During the meeting, the facility informed the Department of

interest from a prospective buyer for the Golden Age Living Newman Facility. The Department stated it would

coordinate with both the landlord and the prospective buyer to discuss the application process for licensure.

Additionally, the Department notified the facility that it is actively seeking a Temporary Manager to help

minimize transfer trauma and ensure that the facility’s daily operations are maintained effectively. The

Department reiterated that no eviction notices have been issued to residents at this time. The primary objective remains the health and safety of the residents.

Lastly, the Department will continue to monitor the situation by conducting daily Health and Safety Checks.

Based on the observations made during this visit, there are no deficiencies cited during at this time. An exit

interview was conducted and a copy of this report was provided to the facility via email. A hard copy of this

report will be provided to the facility via certified mail.
