The inspector’s account

On 1/29/24 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Maja Jensen arrived at facility unannounced to conduct a required 1 year annual visit. LPA Jensen met with Carlin Robertson, Interim Executive Director and explained the purpose of today's visit. The facility currently has no clients. A Residential Care Facility for the Elderly is operational in the same physical plant.

LPA Jensen toured the facility grounds. There are no bodies of water on the property. All exterior paths were free of obstruction. There are shaded areas outdoors for clients to use. LPA Jensen toured the physical plant. The facility has an activity room, a beauty salon, dining rooms, living rooms and rooms for clients to rest or shower. There is a designated medication room that is inaccessible to clients in care. The facility was observed to be sanitary and free of odor. All furniture was observed to be in good repair. There were no toxins or sharp objects observed accessible to clients in care. The water temperature in main bathroom was measured at 108 degrees which falls within the required regulatory range of 105-120 degrees Fahrenheit. LPA Jensen inspected the kitchen and observed it to be sanitary and in compliance. The facility has a current and Infection Control Plan.

The facility maintains first aid kits that are complete. The fire extinguisher was last serviced in September of 2023 and is in compliance The smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector was checked and determined to be in good working order. LPA Jensen reviewed the Emergency Disaster Plan and found it to be in compliance. The Emergency Disaster Plan was last reviewed in January of 2024 by the Executive Director. The facility has a generator available for use in the event of a power outage and the generator is operated monthly to ensure good working order.

A copy of the liability insurance was requested to be sent to the Department by 2/5/24. The Inspection Tool was used during the course of this visit. No deficiencies were observed. The facility was determined to be in substantial compliance. An exit interview was conducted and a copy of this report was handed to Carlin Robertson.
