The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Renee Campbell arrived unannounced to conduct a 1 year annual inspection for Central Valley Training Center, INC. LPA Campbell met with Program Director Courtney Kegley and informed her of the reason for the visit. The program is open Monday - Friday, 9 am to 3 pm. The office is also open from 8 to 4:30 pm. The current census is 111 clients who consistently attend the program in person and 56 staff .The room temperature was 70 degrees Fahrenheit (F) which is between a minimum of 68 degrees F (20 degrees C) and a maximum of 85 degrees F (30 degrees C).

LPA Campbell inspected the facility which included the break room, multipurpose room, classrooms and bathrooms. The client participants bring their own lunches and snacks and the facility has an emergency supply of food for up to seven days. Sharp knives are locked away in the same cabinet as the medications. The first aid kit was present and complete. There's sufficient lighting throughout the facility. The required fire extinguisher were present and were last inspected 12/30/2024 . The day program's last fire drill was conducted on 12/12/2024. LPA Campbell tested the hot water in the bathroom. It was measured 120 degrees F. which is between the range of 105-120 degrees F. There are no bodies of water on the premises. LPA Campbell observed that indoor/outdoor passageways are free from obstruction.

The Day Program is clean and in good repair. It is a free standing one floor building. There is no outdoor space. LPA Campbell observed all clients participating in today's activities or leaving on outings. LPA Campbell reviewed 6 staff files. Of the files selected, all staff were fingerprint cleared and all files were found to be complete. There were 5 client files reviewed and all files were found to be complete.

The Drill log was reviewed and the day program tracks monthly fire and earthquake drills. LPA Campbell suggested earthquake and smoke drills be tracked on separate forms to clarify what drills have been conducted.As a result of this inspection, no deficiencies were cited, per Title 22 Regulations. Exit interview was conducted and a hardcopy of this report was given to .Courtney Kegley, Program Director.
