Facility Evaluation Report
Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Cuadra conducted an unannounced POST licensing inspection of this licensed care facility. LPA was initially greeted by caregiver. Administrator Jenero Jefferson was not able to come to the facility, but he gave authorization for staff to sign the report. Due to technical difficulties LPA was unable to use the inspection tool from FAS.
Upon arrival, LPA was not screened for temperature. LPA conducted a walk-through of the facility and observed Covid-19 posters throughout that included hand washing signs. However, technical advisory note was issued and Licensee agreed to post complaint poster as required by regulation. Facility is a one story building with 4 client bedrooms. Facility has an approved fire clearance for 4 ambulatory clients. During the inspection all four clients were present. Facility was a comfortable temperature and exits were free from obstructions. Hand sanitizer is located throughout the facility. Per Administrator, staff and clients are been screened daily for Covid-19 symptoms, but results are not been recorded. LPA/Administrator discussed the importance of documenting daily screening for staff and clients. Facility has a designated visitation area indoors and outdoors. Facility does not have frequent visitors but does currently allow inside and outside visitation. All staff and clients are vaccinated and boosted. Commonly touched surfaces are disinfected twice per day. LPA has requested Administrator to review all staff files to ensure that staff are adequately trained regarding infection control and proper donning and doffing of PPE. Medications are stored in a locked medication closet. The amount of fresh and nonperishable foods is within regulation. There was an ample supply of cleaners, hygiene products and paper products available for residents. Bathrooms were equipped with necessary grab bars and non-slip floors/mats. Disaster drills are performed quarterly, last one was performed in August 10, 2022. Fire extinguisher inspected was charged dated 11/09/2021. Carbon monoxide and smoke detectors were observed throughout the facility.
