The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Victoria Bertozzi and Helena Rummonds arrived unannounced to conduct an Annual Required inspection and met with Administrator, Maria Tatad.

LPAs initiated a tour of the facility around 9:30am and made the following observations: Facility was a comfortable temperature and passageways were free from obstructions. Client rooms were furnished per regulation. Water temperature in client bathroom measured at 117 degrees F which is within the range of 105 to 120 degrees F allowed per regulation. Extra hygiene products and linens were available. Kitchen cabinet containing cleaning supplies was locked. Additional cleaning supplies and disinfectants are stored in a garage closet that was also locked. Facility has at least two days of perishable and one week of non-perishable foods which appeared to be of quality and stored per regulation. Medications were centrally stored and locked. Emergency food and water supplies are stored in the garage along with Personal Protective Equipment.

Fire extinguisher was last serviced October 2023. Facility has hardwired combination Smoke/Carbon Monoxide detectors located throughout the facility that is maintained by a vendor. Most recent service was conducted October 2023. Most recent fire/disaster drill was conducted in September 2023.

Six staff files and four client files were reviewed. Administrator Certificate for Administrator Maria Teresa Tatad 6043336735 expires 1/25/2024. Staff training was reviewed. Medications and medication records and client cash resources were also reviewed.
