The inspector’s account

At approximately 10:00, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Contreras arrived unannounced to conduct a required Annual inspection and was greeted by staff, Administrator (admin) Mary Felix arrived shortly after. Facility is a Day Program opened from 7:30am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday. Facility approved for 40 participants with 4 attending program upon LPA arrival.

LPA and Admin toured the building and grounds. The facility was found to be clean and at a comfortable temperature. Exits were clear and free from obstruction. Water measured at 118 and 120 degrees F which is within the allowable range of 105 to 120 degrees F. LPA advised admin to be aware that temperature does not get any higher.

5 out of 5 fire extinguishers within the facility were found to be last charged 6/09/25. Sprinkler system is hardwire and maintained by Fire Code. Emergency disaster drills are conducted on a quarterly basis and documented. Toxins, cleaning supplies and other potentially dangerous items were observed stored in a designated cleaning supply closet inaccessible to clients. Sharps and knifes were locked in storage box inaccessible to clients.

LPA observed clients to be engaged in group activities including exercising and arts and crafts. Program has activity room and a meditation room currently in process. Clients have access to outdoor patio that was observed to have a shaded area and exit clear from obstruction.

Program provides meals and snacks for clients but may also bring their own lunch if special diet is needed. Facility does not have its own van or car but admin stated they use their personal car if transportation is needed.
