The inspector’s account

At approximately 1:20 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Star Stevenson arrived unannounced to BEGIN a required 1-year annual inspection and was greeted by House Manager Maria Luis Gueco. Facility is an Adult Residential Facility (ARF) with three (3) clients in care. Two (2) clients were present during today's visit. LPA was informed that one (1) client was away at Day Program. Facility is serviced by vendor North Bay Regional Center (NBRC).

At approximately 1:30 PM , LPA initiated a tour of the facility with House Manager and observed the following: Facility is a one (1) story home, was a comfortable temperature, and passageways were free from obstructions. Facility's fire extinguisher was observed charged and last serviced 5/25. Smoke and Carbon Monoxide detectors were tested and found operational during inspection. Licensee was noted to have a number of redundant smoke detectors in the main hallwall and laundry area with newer models working and older models not working and licensee is advised to replace older smoke detectors to remain in compliance.

Water temperatures in client bathrooms read at 111.2 degrees F and 111.3 degrees F which is within the allowable range of 105 to 120 degrees F per Title 22 regulations. LPA observed a supply of clean linens, hygiene, and paper products available for clients. Clients' bedrooms were inspected and observed to have all the appropriate furnishings as outlined in Title 22 regulations.

Two bedrooms were noted to have doorways to the exterior and interior, while bedroom #3 is noted to not have a door to the exterior and licensee was reminded to not place a "non-ambulatory" clients in bedroom #3.
