The inspector’s account

At approximately 12:45 PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Star Stevenson arrived unannounced to BEGIN a required - 1 Year inspection. LPA met with caregiver Oliva Garcia who has Designation of Facility Responsibility (RP), who called licensee Higinia Alvis to advise of today's inspection.

At approximately 1:00 PM Licensee arrived to further assist with today's inspection.

Fire clearance approval is for six (6) non-ambulatory clients. All exits were cleared and free of obstruction.

Fire extinguisher was charged and serviced on 04/2025. Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and observed to be operational and centrally. Water that would be accessible to clients in care were found to be within 105 to 120 F per title 22 regulations.

Facility now has locking doors under kitchen sink to safely store toxins and a separate locking drawer for sharps is being used.

In the main bathroom accessible to clients in care LPA observed 3 broken drawers with the licensee and a Technical Violation is being issued for CCR 80087(a) for facility to be in good repair.

Three (3) different refrigerators were inspected and in multiple cases food removed from commercial packaging is not labeled and not stored in air tight bags and a Technical Advisory is being issued for CCR 85076(d)(4)-food storage.
