The inspector’s account

At approximately 9:15 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Robert Frank arrived unannounced to conduct an annual required inspection for this facility and met with Program Manager (PM), Kristi Lamb. Pace-Benicia is licensed to serve thirty-five (35) clients, ten (10) of whom may be non-ambulatory, ages eighteen (18) and older as an Adult Day Program. At the time of the visit the facility had thirty (30) clients. The facility runs on staggered scheduling. At approximately 9:30 AM LPA reviewed Facility Staff Roster and found that all staff members on site were background cleared and associated to the facility per regulation.

At approximately 9:50 AM LPA toured the facility. The facility was found to be clean and at a comfortable temperature with all exits free from obstruction. The Facility's three (3) fire extinguishers were found to be last inspected on 1/26/2026. Emergency disaster drills are conducted monthly, with the last drill conducted on 1/14/2026.

Clients were observed to be engaged in various group activities including, discussions and arts & crafts. There are daily outings for the clients. Outings include visits to local parks, the library, shopping centers and field trips to local attractions. Clients were observed to have positive relationship with staff who were continuously engaging and participating with clients. LPA was informed that clients currently provide their own meals or purchase food at local venues. Hot water temperatures for a sample of sinks were found to be within Title 22 regulations of 105 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Toxins were observed to be stored inaccessible to clients. Facility has an infection control plan as required. The facility has a required emergency disaster plan.
