The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Maria (Mita) Partoza conducted an unannounced annual required inspection and met with Administrator (ADM) Stephanie Valera and stated the purpose of the visit.

The facility is licensed to serve six (6) intellectual and developmentally challenged adults ages 18-59 years all ambulatory only. LPA observed 0 out of 6 residents inside the facility. 1 out of 6 was with family and 5 out of 6 were attending the day program.

LPA inspected the facility inside and outside, including common areas, resident rooms, kitchen, bathrooms, driveway, and outdoor spaces and storage areas. Outdoor areas were free of hazards; laundry appliances were functional, and cleaning supplies were secured and hallways were clear and well-lit .Indoor temperature was within acceptable range of 71°F

The kitchen was sanitary and organized; knives were locked and not accessible to residents without supervision. Food supply requirement was met (2 days perishable, 7 days non-perishable). Kitchen water temperature measured at 117.6°F. Medications are locked and inaccessible to residents. Facility has first aid kit that is properly stored and complete.

LPA inspected resident rooms and observed rooms to be organized, and sanitary and had adequate storage for resident's personal belongings. Bathrooms had bars and non-skid mats. Bathroom water temperature ranged from 113.3°F to 113.7°F.
