The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Noel Wolf Petersen, arrived unannounced to conduct a POC visit in association with citations issued in the past. LPA met with Administrator Joseph Nimene and Tanneh Koayen Walters Residential Home Care 3 is a 4 bed facility for persons 18-59.

Physical Plant was inspected including but not limited to kitchen, common areas, and storage areas. facility is clean, traffic areas are well lit and unobstructed. the required posters are present. 2 days perishable food, 7 days non perishable food, and 3 days emergency food were present in the facility.

The LPA observed bathroom curtains and blinds have been replaced, facility staff are ready to launder them as necessary in the normal degredation of use. Offensive soaps were put away in lockable storage, notice that dangerous items would be stored locked has been put up on the door to the cabinet. Resident food preference decisions are going to be recorded once a month after the resident council meeting where this kind of issue would be most naturally brought up. LPA pointed out some stored foods that were a getting close(11 days) to expiring, asked the facility to take an inventory of the stored foods, double check dates/dents, wipe off any accumulated dust.

Facility is in a state of compliance with the POC at this time. An exit interview was conducted, a copy of the report was read and given to the facility.
