The inspector’s account

On 4/24/2025 at 2:00pm, a technical support program (TSP) update was conducted via Teams meeting. Present at the meeting were licensing program manager (LPM) Liza King, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Michael Bilger and Noel Wolf Petersen, Regional Center Representatives Katina Richison, Chris Pillsbury, Brian Bennett, Ombudsman Kathryn Thomas, and Licensee Lourdes Fernandez. Topics discussed at today’s meeting included Care and Supervision and Personal Rights of Residents. A TSP engagement was completed on 1/22/2025 and the summary report was provided on 2/10/2025. It was determined at today’s meeting that various resources were provided to Licensee including a guide for best practices to ensure residents are getting the best care possible, as well as a PowerPoint guideline to further address these best practices. Additionally, TSP provided consultation, training and resources regarding personal rights including a tool which assists licensee in understanding personal rights and best practices necessary to ensure licensee adheres to these rights. Tool included self-assessment guides which licensee may utilize periodically.

Licensee was made aware that quarterly visits from Licensing Department will continue and include but not be limited to: Inspection of training documents pertaining to personal rights. During today’s meeting, it was recommended that licensee continues to use the provided resources from TSP and contact LPA for additional guidance and other questions. An exit interview was conducted with Licensee and a copy of this report was emailed to Licensee with request to return with signature.
