The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Charlie Yang arrived to this facility unannounced to conduct a case management inspection and was met by the facility designated Administrator Melinda Womble. This case management visit was conducted to ensure that this facility was in compliance with applicable statutes and regulations.

During the visit, the LPA was unable to conduct interviews with staff since there weren't any residents in care at this time. There were not any live-in care staff at the home. LPA reviewed staff files and resident files. It was learned that this facility would only have 1 direct care staff on shift since this facility was a Level 3 home. There weren't any residents present since they were all attending their respectable day programs at this time and were not present until later in the day around 2:30 pm.

The LPA conducted a tour of the physical plant and observed the facility to be within compliance with Title 22 rules and regulations. Common areas were clean and free of debris. Resident rooms had necessary furniture and furnishings. The facility had a food supply enough for 7 days of perishables and 2 days of non-perishables. Sharps, medications, and toxins were locked and made inaccessible to the residents in care. Appropriate Federal Labor Law signs were observed to be posted on the walls in the laundry room since the sign in for facility staff was present with time clock as well.

Based on file review and observation of the physical plant, it appeared that this facility was in compliance with applicable statues and regulations at this time.

There were no deficiencies observed or cited during today's case management visit.
