The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Samer Haddadin conducted an unannounced annual inspection of the facility. Upon arrival, LPA Haddadin was greeted by Administrator Eric Lin, who granted entry and was informed of the purpose of the visit. The LPA toured both the interior and exterior of the facility and made the following observations.

The facility is a single-story residence comprising six resident bedrooms, three resident bathrooms, a living room, a kitchen with a dining nook, a dining area, a laundry room, and a staff break room. At the time of the visit, three residents were present. All residents’ bedrooms were inspected and found to be appropriately furnished with beds, chairs, and clean linens. These rooms provided adequate storage and were free of tripping hazards. The kitchen was in good repair, with all major appliances operational. Knives and other sharps were secured and inaccessible to residents. A first aid kit was available, containing all required elements and a first aid manual. Medications were observed to be properly stored in a locked closet. All fire alarms and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and found to be operational, and auditory devices on exit doors were in proper working order. An Additional Dwelling Unit (ADU) with a separate address is located on the property. Both buildings are included on the facility sketch and have the necessary fire clearances. The exterior of the facility was well-maintained, with furnishings in good repair and pathways unobstructed. The grounds appeared safe and inviting, featuring a shaded seating area for residents. Fire extinguishers were fully charged, with indicators in the green zone, and the most recent inspection was noted as April 4, 2026.
