The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jerome Haley conducted an announced visit for the purpose of conducting a required one-year annual inspection. LPA was greeted, granted entry by staff and explained the reason for the visit.

The facility is currently vacant and has never had any residents. LPA Haley went with Licensee Bui room to room to verify rooms are still empty. The facility still has gas, power, hot water, and electricity. No smells or odors were present.

The smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors tested operational. During the last Annual visit, LPA Haley provided guidance to licensee Bui to make the gate surrounding the swimming pool and the backyard self-closing and self-latching. LPA Haley verified the corrections were made and now both gates are self-closing and self-latching.

During the visit LPA Haley spoke with Licensee Bui regarding the plans for the facility and Licensee Bui advised LPA that he was recently approved by the Assisted Living Waiver (ALW) program and expects to start admitting residents in the next 3 months. Licensee Bui was advised again, to notify the department prior to accepting it's first resident.

Facility contact information was reviewed during the visit and is current. Licensing fees are due this month and will be paid immediately.

No deficiencies are being cited during today’s visit.

An exit interview conducted, and a copy of the report was provided.
