Staff failed to treat client with dignity and respect.

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Joseph Alejandre made an unannounced visit to conduct the initial 10-day visit to begin the investigation into the allegation listed above. LPA was greeted and granted entry by staff. LPA met with Administrator Jennifer Devore. LPA explained the reason for the visit. The investigation into the allegation, staff failed to treat resident with dignity and respect, revealed the following: On 12/27/2022 staff and clients went on a group outing. It was reported that during the group outing a staff member (Staff 1) made inappropriate comments to Client 1 (C1). Based on interviews with staff and clients no one else was present at the time the comments would have been made. The incident was not reported to facility staff. None of the staff or clients present on the outing reported any inappropriate behavior. 2 out of 2 clients interviewed reported they have never heard any staff say anything inappropriate or disrespect a client. 4 out of 4 staff interviewed reported they have never disrespected a client or said anything inappropriate. Based on the evidence gathered through interviews the allegation, staff failed to treat client with dignity and respect, is deemed unsubstantiated. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is no preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur. An exit interview was conducted and a copy of the report provided.
